Cartoon of the month: Barack Obama (after Van Gogh)

The scandal surrounding the spying practices of the NSA just keeps growing and growing, as the full extent of the surveillance programs run by the US government becomes clear. As a result, Barack Obama is facing international embarrassment and domestic criticism.

This cartoon was drawn by Israeli cartoonist Shlomo Cohen. He was born in 1943 in Israel, and studied art at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. As a caricaturist, he places emphasis on portraits, and over the years he has developed a unique line of caricatures that is easily identified to him. He works today as the political cartoonist for the newspaper “Israel Hayom” producing daily cartoons.
